SAD: A Police Officer Attached to JKIA Commits Suicide After Telling His Wife This, Leaves a Note

Just recently, Citizen news media revealed that over 400 people have taken their lives in the last few months. This data cuts across some members of the police service. Reports reaching various news desks right now indicate that another KJIA-attached officer has committed suicide.

According to a report by Citizen, Constable Donfan Wanyaga hung himself inside his house in Kagio, Kirinyaga county. The incident was confirmed by Mwea-West sub-county police commander Stephen Okal.

Reports from the family have revealed that the deceased first informed his wife that he was going to commit the act. Residents who were determined to save the officer, however, arrived late only to find his lifeless body.

“In fact his wife called us saying her husband wanted to commit suicide unfortunately he killed himself before we arrived,” said Gachoki - one of the witnesses at the scene. The deceased left behind a note instructions his wife to give his phone to his son. May his soul rest in peace.

Do you think something should be done on the mental health of our officers?
