According to reports, DCI have managed to seized a large consignment of cocaine, whose street value is estimated to be around Ksh 100 million after arresting the lady.
The DCI’s Transnational Organized Crimes and Anti-Narcotics unit managed to arrest the lady after taking an acted on a tip-off from the public.
Note; the tip-off led DCI to a house where 29-year-old, Nuru Murshid Mahfud, was found in possession of the controlled substance which was conveniently packed in 35 sachets and hidden in a suitcase.
So far, Sleuths are yet to establish whether the consignment was meant for local consumption or whether it was being ferried to foreign destinations.
Otherwise, the suspect has been detained at a police station in the coastal city as the undercover agents hunt for her accomplices
In conclusion, DCI’s Chemistry and Toxology unit at the agency's Forensics Lab will move to conduct forensic tests on the impounded drugs for documentation.
