The Nairobi Express Way will be opened by April, the transport cabinet secretary James Macharia has said, speaking in one of the tours of the twenty seven kilometer highway, Mr.Macharia expressed confidence that the contractor will be through by February given that the road is already sixty four percent complete.
"Test runs on the road will be done in March next year as we are confident that the contractor will have completed all work by February," said Macharia.
The eagerly a waited road running running from Mlolongo to James Gichuru intersection along Waiyaki Way that has been under construction since mid last year.
The contractor has been under pressure from both the government and road users to hasten the pace of construction so that the major inconveniences that have been caused by construction works on commuters and businesses are eased.Macharia noted that they have cut the time for the project for two years.
"We have shortened the project from four years to two years thus the reason why the contractor works twenty four hours to see it completion," he said.
