A police officers attached to the Recce Squad was on Sunday night attacked in Nakuru by machete-wielding thugs while he was in company of his two brothers.
Harrison Onywonki and his two siblings Hezron Onwonga and Morara Onwonga were on their way back home returning from a family meeting in Nakuru City Centre when they were ambushed by the five unidentified men who were armed with machetes in Mazembe area.
“The victims staged a fight with suspects, but they were overpowered, leaving them seriously injured,” a police report stated as reported by a source.
The three brothers were rescued by police officers on patrol who then rushed them to Nakuru Provincial General Hospital.
The Recce officer, who had sustained more grievous injuries unfortunately succumbed to the injuries while receiving treatment.
The other two brothers were treated and has since been discharged from the hospital in a fair condition as reported by the source.
