Embu's Njukiri Grounds will be cometed within four and half months, Interior and coordination of national government principal Secretary Raymond Omollo has announced.

Omollo made the announcement after they toured the ground together with the members of the members of the Celebrations Steering Committee and a number of principal Secretaries from other ministries on Tuesday 17, January 2023. He announced that the the national government will partner with the County Government led by governor Cecily Mbarire to ensure that the facility is completed within this period.

According to him, the facility will be able to accommodate a total of 20,000 individuals once it is comes.
"In the company of fellow Principal Secretaries from different ministries, we led the National Celebrations Steering Committee for an inspection tour of Njukiri Grounds, Embu County." Omollo posted on his social media pages shortly after the tour.

The principal Secretary further announced that the facility will be hosting the 60th Madaraka day Celebrations being the first national Celebrations that will be hosted there upon its completion.
"In partnership with the County Government of Embu, under Governor @CecilyMbarire, the building of this ultra-modern facility with a 20,000 capacity will be complete in record 4 and half months to host the 60th, 2023 Madaraka Day Celebrations." The principal Secretary added.
