At around 6:30 p.m., Mugo was attacked by unknown individuals at the Ainabkoi-Kapsabet intersection.
Mugo said in a police report filed at Kondoo Police Station in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County, that her kidnappers used a saloon Subaru to obstruct her vehicle. She was unable to obtain the vehicle's license plate information.
Using a machete, the suspects caused injuries on Mugo's face and hands.
Her two cellphones, as well as personal stuff, were among the goods taken.
Mugo was treated at the Burnt Forest County Hospital after the attack before being moved to Reale Hospital in Eldoret Town.
The investigation into the incident has begun, and authorities are working to apprehend the culprits who are still on the loose.
The detective recently expressed interest in running for office in 2022.
The shady investigator has intimated that she may run for the Kirinyaga Woman Representative seat.
Mugo stated that she was enthusiastic about giving back to society and that she was willing to assist Kirinyaga citizens.
