"His Character Is Wanting" Details Of Ruto Allied Senator Who Shot Nanyuki Woman

Anwar Loitiptip, a Lamu senator, was arrested last night in Nanyuki, Laikipia County, for a reported gunshot incident at Kanu Grounds. Senator Anwar was questioned until 8:30 p.m. after turning himself in to Nanyuki Police Station detectives around 5 p.m. over the Saturday night gun drama that left a woman with gunshot wounds.

The senator claimed he was accosted by three people before shooting the woman, according to the police report. "True, the senator was involved in a shooting incident, but he maintains he acted in self-defense. Our officers are looking into the situation," Mr. Towett stated.

According to police, the incident was reported at 2:20 a.m. at Nanyuki police station, and officers discovered Joy Makena, 32, who had been shot in the right leg above the ankle when they arrived on the scene. According to reports, the shooting was started by a disagreement with Senator Anwar. Police found two expended cartridges and a rifle with 13 rounds of ammo at the crime scene.

This comes just a week after the senator made headlines after being entangled in yet another dramatic saga on Tuesday. When the senator assaulted another man in Lamu county a week ago, he was on the spot. The senator is claimed to have kicked and abused a guy named Francis Mugo at the Manda Airport Jetty on Tuesday evening, just minutes after Deputy President William Ruto left the county for Nairobi, according to the Daily Nation.

DP Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) delegation paid a visit to Lamu town a week ago to rally support for the "hustler" movement and preach his bottom-up economic strategy. Senator Anwar, on the other hand, injured Mugu, 32, in the right hand, left eye, and hip during the altercation.

Mr. Loitiptip is accused of snatching Mr. Mugo's phone, breaking his spectacles, and attempting to toss him into the Indian Ocean. Mr. Mugo, a Lamu native and father of three children, is among those who have expressed interest in running for the Lamu senatorial seat on a UDA ticket in the 2022 General Election.

"Senator Loitiptip's behavior has disappointed me. After DP Ruto boarded his flight and departed Manda Airport, he attacked me. He seized my phone, which I was using, by force. He smashed my spectacles and hurt my right hand and left eye in the process. He tortured me even more by attempting to hurl me into the ocean from the jetty, but he failed "Mugo remarked.

After being treated and discharged from Mpeketoni Sub-County Hospital and King Fahad County Hospital, Mr. Mugo now walks with a bandaged hand. The incident was reported to the Lamu Central Police Station, and OB number 26/19/10/2021 was assigned to it.

Lamu County Police Commander Moses Murithi verified the occurrence and stated that it was under investigation. "I can confirm that an assault report has been filed, and that investigations are still underway. There have been no arrests so far," he stated.

Senator Loitiptip, on the other hand, refuted allegations that he harassed, beat, and harmed Mr. Mugo. He called the accusations "false" and "malicious" and "incorrect."

"That man is only searching for sympathy and a way to smear my reputation, but I will simply ignore him. You can imagine how unjust it is for someone to show up at my function and attempt to frame me," he stated.

The legislator is no stranger to controversies. Mr. Loitiptip was seriously injured in the head in June 2019 after watching the European Champions League finals with former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's daughter, Saumu Mbuvi, at a popular nightclub on Thika Road. Mr. Loitiptip is said to have rescued Ms. Mbuvi from an attacker in the washrooms, only for the attacker to return with reinforcements and beat him with clubs and other crude weapons.

The senator's erratic personality appears to run in their family. Mr. Anwar's father was shot in May of last year while attempting to prevent cops from detaining a man wanted for allegedly beating his wife.
