Each passing day in Kenya has seen a story about young people killing themselves or their spouse due to misunderstandings. The most recent case involve a 42 year old man idnetified as Munyao. He allegedly killed his wife and hid her in their one room house at Kambi Moto in Ruiru.
Many people argue that the hard economic time brought about by Corona has increased domestic violence. Many people are depressed and slight provocation is easily leading to massive destruction. Psychological councilors argue that if the issues to do with depression are identified early they can be handled successfully. Parents too have an active role towards ending this horrible cases.
Once their children are ready to settle down, the traditional setup should be adopted where parents and the elderly were actively involved in advising the two. Women and grandparents advised the girl while fathers adviced the boy. This way the two identified and noted where to seek for help when faced with challenges. Today partners lack that attachment and easily hold things until breaking point.
The Ruiru incident is an example of a man who was normal but slowly turned to suffer from a psychotic problem. Living with a decomposing body in the house show an individual who is mentally unstable. His calm state show his unremorseful nature as he has lost that sense. The government too should help in building help centres where people can run to for help when things overwhelm them.
What are your views about parents involvement in ending the increased cases emanating from partners living together? Leave us tour comment. Each comment will be addressed.
