Funeral mass of late director of Kenya national focal point on small arms, Charlton Muriithi, underway.
The deceased prior to his demise was the director of Kenya national focal point on small arms.
This is according to the Facebook post by The National Police Service Commission on Saturday evening.
"The funeral mass for the Late Mr. Charlton Murithi Muruiki, EBS, OGW, NDC (K), who until his demise was the Director Kenya National Focal Point on Small Arms, is currently underway at Gatekene Primary School grounds in Imenti South Sub-County, Meru County." The statement read in part.
Security was been beefed up in and out of Gatekene primary school and nearby roads closed.
The officer will be laid to rest at a private ceremony today at his home, according to reports. MMr Charlton leaves behind a vast business empire with interests in manufacturing, transport, real estate, banking and large-scale farming.
Residents started streaming in at the venue as early as 6am for the burial ceremony.
