One police officer assigned to the Recce Squad was killed after he sustained serious injuries in an attack by Armed thugs in Maze be area, Nakuru county.

According to a post shared by citizen tv on Twitter, police report released on Sunday indicated that Harrison Onywonki was in the company of his two brothers; Hezron Omwonga and Morara Omwonga when they were attacked by five group of armed gangs. The three were returning home from a family meeting in Nakuru centre before being ambushed by the suspected thugs.

Police report further indicated that the three brothers sustained serious injuries after they staged a fight to reclaim their phones which had been snatched by the suspected thugs. They were rushed to Nakuru Provisional hospital by police on night patrol but Onywonki died from his injuries while receiving treatment.
