Shocked residents of Kinangop woke up to a rude shock after a missing woman was found in a water borehole used for drinking water. The incident happened in Kirinyaga County after a woman who was reported missing a week ago was discovered in a fresh water borehole used by the occupants of the apartment.

According to The Star digital news platform, the woman who had been reported as missing is believed to have either slipped and fell in the underground tank, even as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said that a comprehensive investigation will be launched to ascertain what really happened to the victim.

Residents however think otherwise as they assume she might have slipped into the poorly ringed tank which accommodates thousands of liters of water. The body was taken to Kirinyaga Level 4 Hospital where a government pathologist will carry out a comprehensive postmortem to ascertain the cause of death.
