An Infant's Body Disappears Mysteriously, Mortuary Attendants Run Away When Probed

A drama ensued at Kerugoya Referral Hospital mortuary in Kirinyaga County after the body of a seven-month-old baby disappeared mysteriously. This triggered protest and dismay from family members who wanted an explanation.

According to Nation Africa, mortuary attendants at the morgue hurriedly left away without giving any substantive explanation of the whereabouts of the body. The baby's family has accused the hospital of negligence, with the child's mother, Purity Wangari, vowing not to rest till she finds her daughter's baby.

"Mortuary attendants and the hospital management should tell us where they took the body daughter. I could not believe it when mortuary attendants told us the body had vanished into thin air. I wanted to give my daughter a decent send-off but now I'm confused," said Ms Wangari as quoted by the media house.

George Karoki, Kirinyaga Medical director, declined to comment on the issue while the family has vowed to sue the hospital if they don't get the baby as soon as possible.
