The man who was having a lovely Easter afternoon with his girlfriend in Kirinyaga drowned in river Nyamindi with his girlfriend when they tried to take selfies along the river bank.
The body of the girlfriend was retrieved and taken to Kirinyaga morgue. However the body of the boyfriend Dickson Mugo was not found on that day because of the flooding river that had swept him from the point he drowned.
However relief has been found after the residents saw his body floating on the water of the same Residents had to inform the police who came and picked the body and took to the Kirinyaga Morgue where the body of his girlfriend had been taken earlier on.
Residents have been informed of the danger of moving near the river when it's flooded. The river has claimed lives because of the things that could have been avoided.
Following that incident the residents have requested for the presence of trained experts who can be helping whenever search a case arise in the future.
