"Half of Kenyans Who Commit Suicide Hails From Kiambu" Vocal Gubernatorial Aspirant Now Claims

Kiambu county gubernatorial aspirant Mwende Gatabaki now claims that half of the people who die by suicide in Kenya hail from Kiambu County.

Speaking during Inooro TV's Kiririmbi Show, Mwende who is vying for the county's top position via Safina Party claimed that cases of suicide have increased in the county.

According to her, Kiambu is currently leading in terms of domestic and social welfare difficulties leading to heightened cases of depression and suicide.

"Kiambu is leading in terms of domestic and social issues. We have alot of challenges such that the county contributes to half of the total Kenyans who have died by suicide," she said.

The politician cited the challenge as one of the things pushing her to seek the county's leadership. She explained that her government will work hard to eradicate such challenges by improving social welfare, including women safety.

Mwende will be facing off with Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Thika Town MP Patrick Wainaina Jungle, former governor William Kabogo, incumbent governor James Nyoro, and Senator Kimani Wamatangi who are all eying the position.
