Fresh details have emerged on Ivy Wangechi's murder case as witness reveals on the possible reason that may have led to the brutal murder.
Speaking in court session in Eldoret, the witness claimed that Naftali Kinuthia who is the main suspect in the case had demanded Kshs 200,000 which he had spent on the lady after she shunned off his love.
He further revealed that the man had for a long time persude Ivy's love but all his efforts were rendered futile.
"Before the incident, Naftali Kinuthia had started demanding a refund of the money that he had spent on Ivy amounting to Kshs 200,000..." He told the court.
Ivy who was Medical student at Moi University was killed three years ago by Naftali who was presumed to be her lover in a love triangle. The man is said to have travelled all the way from Thika to Eldoret to kill his lover.
He hacked her with an axe at Moi University Teaching and Referral Hospital where she was doing her practicals. He went ahead and requested the court to grant him permission through a court order to have the body buried at his home, something which was dismissed forcing the court to order for his mental assessment.
Medical report deemed him fit to face trials and he his currently facing murder charges.
