A form three student at Rwambithi High School in Kirinyaga County was today arrested after beating up teachers who found him with a phone, reports Uasin Gishu based journalist Lemiso Sato Emanuel.
Cases of students being arrested over indiscipline and heinous acts have been on the rise since the reopening of schools. Just yesterday, a student was arrested by detectives from DCI after he hacked his father to death with a machete.
Reports on the ground reveal that the father had gone to his room to inquire about on habitual absenteeism from school, only to find him making love with a lady. The 21 year old student got fed up and descended on his dad with blows and kicks before hacking him to death.
Besides, some schools have been shut down after classrooms and dorms were set ablaze by students. To curb these ugly incidents that have since paralysed learning in some schools, The Ministry of Education Stakeholders want corporal punishment and canning reintroduced in schools to tame indiscipline students.
