Eldoret town and the surrounding regions have received heavy downpour today in the afternoon.However, today's rains were exceptional as they were accompanied by a large magnitude of ice.The heavy rains lasted for not less than one and a half hour.
Ice pellets remained on the surface where different residents took their photos and circulated in the social media.People who were in the open field during the start of the rains rushed for shelter to avoid injuries from the high speeding ice pellets.However, the solid ice later melted after about thirty minutes after the heavy rains.
The solid ice dominated greatly at the regions around University of Eldoret, Kuinet, Junction, Sogomo, Kambi and Scholar among others.There were hot temperatures in the morning in the same region.Eldoret normally receives heavy rains in the month of August and April.The seasons seemed to change slightly this year where Eldoret heavy rains experienced in August extended to September.
