Power of a Woman: Girl, 13, Saves Her Expectant Mother in Labour Pains Using a Boat

Rains have caused havoc in different parts of the country with some worst-hit places like Budalangi getting floods and causing a delay in most activities in the area. However, rains have reduced in the past few weeks.

According to Standard Media, a 13-year-old girl saved her expectant mother who went into labour night a day before at night by using a boat to reach the nearest medical centre, Rukwala.

“It was in the middle of the night when my mom started calling me to help her out. I didn't know what to do because she was sick of malaria (sic) due to the flooding in the area but I decided to take the mantle and take her to the nearest medical centre,” the young Virginia Aoko, a class seven pupil narrated.

She braved the cold night and took her mother to the nearest hospital where she got help from the medical staffs who were around at that time. Everything went well and her mother bore her seventh child in the process.

It was such a heroic moment that even her mother Judith Anyango couldn't believe her daughter could do such an act.
