A 26-year-old man allegedly decided to commit suicide after the death of his girlfriend. Residents of Puche village in Nyatike Sub-County, Migori were in shock after finding his dangling body in an abandoned house, few meters from where the woman was found dead.
According to police reports shared by the Sunday Standard, Evans Ouma, the deceased, went missing on July 26 same day a girl from St Sabianas Owich Secondary School also went missing mysteriously.
He also noted that the body had burn wounds and bruises on the face, hands, stomach and legs. He further said that the body of Evans was found 50 meters from where Melvin was found and that the man used sisal to hang himself.
“The man is suspected to have been the boyfriend of the deceased. Investigations are ongoing to unravel the causes of the deaths and whether the two incidences have any connection,” said Nyatike Sub-county police commander Stella Too.
