Four passengers died on the spot after a grisly accident in Awendo-Kisumu road while others were rushed to Awendo hospital for further treatment. According to the report from one of the radio stations, it revealed that the Matatu vehicle rammed over a tractor vehicle that was transporting sugar cane towards Awendo. Eyewitnesses declared that the tractor was invisible simply because it was heavily loaded with the sugar cane and the driver of the Matatu vehicle failed to notice before the accident occurred in that place.
Mark Wanjala who is the traffic police commander confirmed the incidents and called upon all the drivers should be careful while driving to avoid such cases of accident that has continued to rise in recently. He urges all drivers who are transporting sugar cane that they should use proper vehicles with all the lights working well and visible for other drivers on the roads every day.
