Phanice Chemutai Juma had been sent to Kiminini town by her mother to process the birth certificate for one of her siblings. She failed to make it back In time before the curfew hours so she was forced to spend the night at a lodging.
She walked out of the room to go buy supper when a man called her. The man was inside a black Prado. He requested to know her better and asked if they could hang out together for the night. Chemutai turned him down telling him he was committed in her current relationship. The man then insisted on taking her phone number.
She gave him the number before walking away. When returning to her room she noticed that the man was suspiciously checking her movements.
She immediately alerted the caretaker who immediately sprung into action and confronted the man. The stranger gave the Attendant a Ksh 1000 note and asked him to give them space.
She then told the lady that she was the person he was looking for before pulling the trigger on her. Officers who were on patrol arrested the shooter and took Phanice to the hospital.
According to Phanice, the claims that the shooter had mistaken her for Caroline Kangogo are fabricated lies intended at subverting justice wheels.
