This was George Stinney Jr, he was executed in 1944 by the electric chair.
He was convicted of allegedly murdering 2 young girls aged 7 and 11 years old. He was only 14years old himself when the police came for him.
He had an unfair two hour trial and 10 minute jury deliberation before being named guilty of the crimes.
Only 84 days after the girls’ murder he was executed. He was only 5′ and not yet 100 lbs. This meant having to sit on books to reach the headpiece since his demeanor was not yet formed as of a grown man would be.

70 years later, in 2014, he was found not guilty of the murders. The police had apparently framed him since he was black. The case and its outcome was said to never have been questioned until much later.
This story always leaves me in tears. The black and white photo is of George Stinney, the color photos are from a modern reenactment. Rest In Peace!
