A senior security officer was arrested in a dramatic swoop in connection to a ring of kidnappings that have terrorized victims. The operation which was led by a multi-agency team comprising of Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives managed to nab three other accomplices that was being led by the senior officer attached to Kenya Prisons.
According to The Standard digital news platform, the prison based officer who is attached to Kamiti Maximum Prison was ambushed moments after reports indicated that they had arrested a business tycoon owning several hardware outlets in Kasarani. The victim was forced to call his relatives in an attempt to extort them over fifty thousand shillings to secure his release after he was forcefully bundled into a saloon car.
The relatives reported to Kasarani Police Station where a search team was dispatched to hunt down the suspects. The number used by the suspects was traced along Mwihoko where a trap was laid, leading to the arrest of the 4 men. They were found in possession of handcuffs and other police related uniforms.
