Another five-seater car reportedly caught fire along Thika Road on Monday night while en route to Githurai 45, Nairobi County.
Thika road traffic police officer Peter Makori confirmed the incident saying the cause of the fire, which engulfed the Toyota Corolla car, remains unclear.
Police reports indcates that the great inferno engulfed through the driver compartments as the vehicle had three occupants onboard all of whom escaped with no injuries.
"A car, Toyota Corolla model caught fire on Monday night at around 10.45pm along Thika road. The vehicle was heading to Githurai 45 from Nairobi CBD," Peter said.
He added, "the fire engulfed through the driver's compartment. The car had three occupants onboard, all of whom escaped unharmed."
The latest development comes only few days when a similar fire incident took place along the busy highway.
Police investigations are ongoing with the officers working tirelessly to establish the root cause of the fire incident.
