There was drama earlier in the day when the former Isiolo Officer Commanding Station(OCS) was nabbed by residents after deserting his transfer post to Garissa police station. Chief Inspector Frederick Odhiambo was transferred to Garissa police station in the same capacity but failed to hand over all police paraphernalia including cash bails he had collected from suspects who were freed to appear in court the next day.
According to a Facebook by the popular 'Modern Kenya Kenya' page, the Frederick failed to hand over as required by police standing orders to incoming OCS Ndirangu. Ndirangu sent a signal to his boss Sub County police commander who sent a team to search for the officer. Word went round that Frederick Odhiambo who was now considered a deserter was wanted by police and was seen in Meru by members of the public.
Residents executed a citizen arrests which almost turned into mob justice before officers from Kamwene police post arrived and re arrested the OCS. He was taken into custody awaiting arraignment in court for stealing by servant under section 280 of the penal code.
