According to the Director of criminal investigations. The suspect identified as 41year old Peter Njenga alias Sonko. Was arrested after an investigation linked to him to the theft of cattle, in December 16 last year in Athi River, Machakos County.
Njenga together with his compliances are said to have ferried the cattle. In a lorry to Dagoretti slaughter house. Where it has been booming market for stolen livestock.
The DCI statement said njenga's arrest, followed uproar from herders based in Athi River. After livestock theft cases went on the rise.
"After being grilled last night the suspect has led detective to his accomplices in the multi-million livestock theft industry.Among the arrested is the lorry driver that ferried the livestock David Gachora." Stated DCI
