
The rising cases of insecurity have become a cause of worry to Kenyans. Robbery incidences targeting specific people has also been on the rise.
Police in Kisumu are investigating an incident where armed thugs attacked and seriously injured renowned businessman in broad daylight.
Businessman Amin Gilani was attacked while waiting to gain entry into his Milimani residence.
Reports indicate that the armed assailants did not take anything from the businessman.
The attack was thwarted after police officers from nearby station got wind of the attack and rushed to the scene where they opened fire at the gang.
The motive of the attack was not clear. Police have launched a manhunt for the suspects.
Residents in the area have appealed to the government to beef up security in the area following the emergence of an armed gang that has been terrorising them at night.
Armed with crude weapons, the gang has been attacking traders and residents.
