The exercise to bar passengers from moving out of the Zoned Area has been ongoing. The exercise has been successful in various roads where roadblocks were erected two weeks ago. One such roadblock is the Gatiiguru which demacate Muranga county from Kiambu and Machakos.
Here motorists have devised new ways to evade the road block something which have become a bother prompting the police to take action. Last week a Nissan matatu driver was arrested after the police were topped off by locals. Today morning several motorcycle operators have been arrested for helping passengers cross the boundary.
The operation saw several motor riders be arrested together with their bikes. All the arrested are said to have devised a route from Ngoliba past the roadblock to Maguguni or Rubiri region which is a section of Murang'a county. Vehicles operating in these areas have also been warned. GSU office have also been deployed to ensure no one breaks the law.
The cessation of movement is one of the strategies used by the government to contain the spread of corona virus. Breaking the law is an attempt to willingly spread the virus which is already a pandic. Ensure that all the guidelines set by the ministry of health are adhered to for maximum safety.
