Elgeyo Marakwet county senator , Kipchumba Murkomen has emerged and openly dismissed reports from the security agencies regarding St Benedicts Aror Girls High school banditry attack . The vocal senator openly differed with the security team which claimed that the video was stage managed.
He faulted the county commissioner for blaming the school principal over the trending video which depicted the reality at the school's environs at the time .
According to the senator , the bandits actually attacked the neighborhoods of the school and caused tension.
This comes a week after a video circulated online showing students of St Benedicts lying on the floor to avoid being hit by bullets which were being fired by alleged bandits .
He further called upon the government to consider reversing the decision to withdraw the National Police Reservist (NPR) so that they can assist in restoring peace in the volatile parts of Aror , Chesongoch and Tot parts of Elgeyo Marakwet county . He affirmed his commitment to working with leaders from the neighboring communities in bid to restore peace in the area.
