DCI Detectives Arrest Two Police Officers For Allegedly Robbing Kshs1700 From a Man In Gatundu South

Two police officers were on Monday morning arrested by DCI detectives for allegedly robbing Kshs1700 from a man in Gatundu South, Kiambu County.

The two officers identified as Wycliffe Obware and Victor Otieno were on Thursday last week coming from a scene of crime in Kikuyu area when the unfortunate happened.

Kiambu County Police Commander Ali Nuno who confirmed the arrest said the duo were nabbed after the DCI detectives were tipped-off by four locals who witnessed the incident.

According to Nuno, the man was heading to work in Githunguri when he met the two officers who transferred Shs1700 from her M-pesa line.

The police boss added that the duo went ahead by deleting the M-pesa message so that he can not forward the transaction message to 456 for a reversal request.

The police boss said that an investigation file was opened by court, where by the data was examined, the duo were identified and nabbed today morning.

The two are currently being processed to be placed in court today afternoon. They will be charged with the offence of obtaining money by false pretence from unsuspecting member of the public.
