Bernard Sivo, police constable, has reportedly killed her wife, Mary Nyambura, who was receiving treatment at Njoro Hospital in Nakuru County.
According to reports, the officer stormed the hospital and sprayed his wife with 15 bullets before escaping. He later went to Njoro police station where he shot himself dead.
"A police officer from Njoro station kills wife Mary Nyambura by spraying her with 15 bullets before escaping while the wife died on the spot. He killed the wife at Njoro Hospital where she was receiving treatment and later took himself to Njoro Police Station where he shot himself dead (loosely translated from Kikuyu)," read the report via Kameme FM.
The cause of the rogue act is not yet clear but police have launched an investigation into the issue.
Cases of rogue officers have been rampant in the country. Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i recently prohibited police officers from having affairs with their collegues as most of the killings revolve around love issues.
