Nairobi Express Highway Gains New Images As Infrastructure Takes New Shape

There are 3 types of piers supporting the Nairobi expressway The 2 columns pier where traffic will flow on both sides of the express highway ,the 3 columns pier that will have traffic flow below the expressway highway.

The Nairobi Express Highway project is slowly changing the city's skyline and is meant to ease traffic flows in and out of the centre of East Africa's main commercial hub.

The government, through public-private partnership(PPP) is constructing the Nairobi Express highway which is 27Km. Upon completion, the highway will be serving over 25,000 vehicles per day.

Introducing the 63B JKIA-Westlands Nairobi express highway whose initial cost was 23B as initiated by Kibaki government. And now the project has been extended to Ruaka superhighway passing through the famous Kirubi's Two rivers Mall.

Nairobi express highway is the first ever Expressway in East and Central Africa taking shape The 27KM four lane highway starts at Mlolongo via JKIA to the CBD terminating at Westlands , Waiyaki Way.

Comparing to Uganda infrastructure projects have such long lead times! The 12 lane Thika Express Highway just 4 years 2009-2012 at 360million

The 3.8Bn 500km SGR from Mombasa to Nairobi took 3 years to construct ie Dec 2014 and launched early 2017.
