A romantic relationship between Benson Imbatu and one Carol, that started three months ago, ended tragically in the dead of night when the police officer fatally shot the girlfriend and five others on Tuesday.
While speaking on location from Dagoretti where the harrowing incident that reportedly involved a rogue policeman killing his wife before shooting innocent civilians and finally killing himself unfolded, Citizen TV journalist Hassan Mugambi revealed that minutes earlier, policemen who whispered to him on condition of anonymity made disturbing claims about what may have really led to the deceased officer doing the heinous actions he’s accused of having done.
Hassan Mugambi, appearing during the station’s lunchtime news, said that the officer’s colleagues informed him that the cop already had an ongoing case with the police watchdog body, Independent Policing and Oversight Authority, IPOA.
Apparently, the now deceased officer had been accused of having illegally killed someone in Kangemi. According to the officers, perhaps their colleague sensed that he was not only going to lose the case against him but would also be charged and sentenced afterwards. They were of the opinion that this was what sent him to the disturbing downward spiral that saw him allegedly take several lives.
