The locals reported the matter to the area assistant chief Peter Ondie who raced to the scene and ordered the body to be removed from the thicket.
The assistant administrator notified officers from Migori town police station who later moved the body to Migori County hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
The motive behind the murder of the slain chief is yet to be established with police recording every sentiments from different locals.
"We don't know the motive behind the murder of my boss. We are yet to establish what happened," said Peter Ondie the assistant chief.
The assistant administrator asked police officers to conduct thorough investigations in the area and held those behind the killings accountable.
“The body has been moved to Migori County hospital mortuary for postmortem. I urge the police to conduct thorough investigation to ensure that those behind the heinous act are brought to book,” Peter added.
The latest development comes when two years ago, a 40-year-old woman was killed and her naked body was found dumped in a bush next to Rongo town in the same county.
