Bar Owners Have a Reason to Smile As Gov't Extends Operating Hours

The Bar and restaurant owners have every reason to Smile as government come clean on operating hours.

This follows a state of confusion that was reportedly brought by lifting of curfew on Wednesday by the head of the state.

Speaking on local Tv station on Thursday 21st October 2021, Mutahi Kagwe, who is the health CS has given new operating hours, saying the time for closure of bars and restaurants has been revived and extended to 11pm or the time stipulated in their licenses.

“We are reverting to the closure of bars and restaurants at 11pm or the time allowed by the licensing authorities,”

The soft spoken CS was keen to note that other Covid-19 rules of washing hands and maintaining social distances will still be observed.

This is good news to bar and restaurant owners as they will make a good kill after months of loses since curfew were put in place from the time Covid-19 landed in the country.
