Although they are still trapped in grief, his burial had to be in accordance to Covid-19 protocols that funerals should be conducted within 72 hours of death confirmation,a directive that was issued two hours before reports of his death hit the headlines.
While speaking with Kameme FM Nairobi correspondent at Kenyatta University funeral home, the family of the deceased disclosed that the burial arrangements were silent to avoid breaching the virus protocols that regulate social gatherings.
"Due to Covid-19 no meetings were done, even his fellow artists had no meetings to plan for his send-of.Everything is set even at home and very few people will attend."
The family revealed that they would have wanted to accord their loved one a decent send-off ceremony befitting his status but the rules had to be followed.
"We could have wanted to accord him a decent burial ceremony but we must follow Covid-19 rules, thats why the burial is today three days after he passed on."
