How Three Police Officers Were Caught Red Handed While Robbing Businessman Sh2M In Broad Daylight

The Police has been allowed to hold three police officers who were were caught red handed while attempting to violently rob a businessman who had withdrawn Sh2 million from a forex bureau.

On Monday at around 11am, Omar together Mohammed Hassan withdrew cash amounting to Sh2 million from Absa Bank and while along Standard Street, they were confronted by four men who claimed to be police officers. The four men then told Hassan who was carrying the bag containing the money, that he was wanted for an offence which they did not reveal.

During the commotion, Omar, an employee of Afro Forex Bureau, snatched the black bag containing money from Hassan and threw it to the security guard who was outside the Forex Bureau. Omar then raised alarm which attracted the nearby security guards and Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) officers who were guarding the nearby Forex Bureau.

The CIPU officers rushed and managed to contain the scene. One of the security guards from Afro Forex Bureau together with the Manager immediately took the bag containing the cash.

On arrival of the CIPU officers, the four suspects identified themselves to them that they were police officers which led to their counterparts retreating back.

Omar and Hassan were then arrested by the said officers who were using a Toyota premio white in colour and claimed that they were taking them to DCI headquarters.

On their way to CID headquarters along Kiambu, the owners of the forex bureau reported to police the incident and the said motor vehicle and its occupants where they were intercepted within Muthaiga, Nairobi.
