The month of November has experienced sunny and dry conditions over several places while some few areas have been witnessing cloudy conditions with rains. The Kenya Meteorological Department is mandated to provide accessible meteorological and climatological information to the general public in accordance with the World Meteorological Organization. The meteorological department has been providing early and timely updates on changing weather patterns and this has infused scientific knowledge among the people.
The Kenya Meteorological Department has made this possible through the creation of an efficient telecommunications and system for rapid collection and dissemination of meteorological and climatological information. The updates have facilitated timely planning for the expected weather changes in the various areas hence enhancing the utilization of natural resources for national development.
The Kenya Meteorological Department working in conjunction with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry has provided weather forecasting updates whose validity ranges from 13th to 17th November 2021.
According to the forecast, Rainfall is expected to continue in several parts of the country. Rainfall is expected over a few areas in the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Central and Southern Rift Valley and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County.
Detailed weather forecasting outlook from 13th to 17th November 2021
1.The Lake Victoria Basin, the Highlands West of the Rift Valley, the Central and South Rift Valley;( Siaya, Kisumu, Homa Bay, Migori, Kisii, Nyamira, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Baringo, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia, Bungoma and West Pokot Counties),
These areas are likely to experience afternoon showers and thunderstorms during the forecast period. The nights are likely to be cloudy with a chance of showers over a few places.
2. Cloudy conditions accompanied with morning rains are likely to be experienced in the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County; (Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Muranga, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka and Nairobi Counties).
A chance of Afternoon showers is also likely to be experienced over a few areas during the forecast period. There is also a chance of night showers being experienced over a few areas during the forecast period.
3. South Eastern Lowlands;( Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties)
Morning and Afternoon showers are likely to be experienced over a few areas throughout the forecast period. Cloudy conditions are in the night are likely to be experienced in the above areas with a chance of night rains over a few areas.
4. The Coastal Strip ;(Mombasa, Tana River, Kilifi, Lamu and Kwale Counties),
Morning showers are likely to be experienced over a few areas. Some areas are set to have sunny intervals during the afternoons while some areas are likely to experience afternoon showers. The nights are set to be cloudy while a few areas likely to experience a chance of rains.
