Simiyu was arrested by the Kirinyaga based detectives after brutaly inflicting his 27-years-old girlfriend with injuries on the back of her head that left her lifeless after reaching hospital.
According to the Kirinyaga Referral Hospital manager Norman Gitari, the victim was brought into the hospital while in a critical state by a one well wisher. The doctor's attached to him tried whatever they can to save her life but all was in vain. This prompted the manager to immediately inform their officer's based at Kerugoya Police Station.
On getting the information, a fierce manhunt of the suspect was launched until yesterday evening when he was nubbed while on a hiding spree.
The suspect then led the detectives to the area where the scene took place at Kianjege village where they all spent the night doing their investigations and collecting forensic research.
The suspect is now cooling his heels in custody as investigations continue.
