Two police officers from to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) have been nabbed for robbing an Egyptian national Sh100,000 among other valuables at Gateway Mall.
Noaman Mosaad Abdelaziz Awadella was allegedly nabbed by people who introduced themselves as cops where he was to be detained at Industrial Area prison.
According to a police statement, the Egyptian National upon being nabbed called one Susan Makena, a director attached to a warehouse in Nairobi who in later went to hunt for him.
Makena came across two CIPU cops accompanied by the Egyptian National before being taken to Mlolongo Police Station in her car, a white Toyota Fielder.
It was here that hell broke loose as the Egyptian National who was inside the car together with the cops was robbed of Sh100,500 from the bag.
Before arriving at the police station, one cop reportedly engaged the hand brake and involved himself in a slight road accident. They later came out of the vehicle saying that they are investigating the incident.
They later came back to the scene of the accident, with plain-clothes unarmed.
The cops reportedly took 7 cookware boxes worth Sh175,000 which the Egyptian National took from Makena’s warehouse.
