A Milimani court Chief Magistrate has allowed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to continue holding alleged senior Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officers for a further 14 days. The DCI through the prosecutor begged the court for additional time to continue with investigations on the status of the purported KDF officers and also reach out to more recruits who were conned.
According to The Star digital news platform, the DCI arrested the 2 suspects while in full military combat gear including medals of senior military ranks. On further search, the suspects also produced a Letter of Appointment allegedly issued by his military employer which the DCI is set to verify before the lapse of the fourteen days.
The suspects arcording to investigations are said to have swindled over 6 individuals with the pretext of being able to secure them a position at KDF after parting with between 350 to 500 thousand shillings.
