Mustafa Lolo, a traffic police officer lost his life yesterday evening in an accident along Nairobi's valley road.
He was hit by a matatu while on duty controlling traffic at the junction between Valley road and Ralph Bunche road.
After getting arrested, the driver of the matatu told police that the brakes failed leading to the fatal accident.
Five more people were seriously injured in the accident after the matatu run over 6 cars.
They are currently receiving treatment in hospital with multiple injuries.
The matatu also hit a commercial building across the busy road before screeching to a halt.
The accident led to hours long traffic jam along the road.
Contable Mustafa's body is now lying at Chiromo mortuary.
He has been mourned by his coallegues as a dedicated police officer.
