Small traders in Kahawa West are up in arms trying to salvage the little they could after the county officials descended on their structure demolishing them without notice. This has led to running battles in the area with residents accusing the police of highhandedness in trying to handle the situation.
Currently, two people have lost their lives in the running battles. The two dies as a result of bullet wounds from the police who were trying to disperse the rioting crowds that have been building up in the area. The resident claiming that this is police brutality.
Images from the scene showing pictures of a town that is in disarray and vacated with businessmen closing their shops for fear of looting and death. Police are yet to issue a comprehensive statement on the same but the area politicians are now accusing the police of using excessive force to disperse the rioting crows.
