The rainfall being experienced over several parts of the country is expected to continue this week.
The Kenya Meteorological Department (KMD) has issued a report detailing some of the areas that will be influenced by rainfall in the next couple of days starting from Wednesday May 18, to May 22.
There shall be a continued downpour over several parts the Highlands West of the Rift Valley region and Lake Victoria basin as well as over some other few areas in the Central and South Rift Valley.
Some parts of the Northwest and the Highlands East of the Rift Valley including Nairobi County are likely to experience scattered storms.
KMD also predicts that strong southerly to south-easterly winds with speeds exceeding 25 knots (12.9 m/s) are expected over some parts of the Coastal Strip, the south-eastern lowlands, the Northwest and the Northeast.
The rest of the country is however likely to remain relatively dry.
In the South Eastern Lowlands including Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado and Taita Taveta Counties, sunny intervals are expected in the mornings and afternoons with partly cloudy at night.
Many regions in the country has been experiencing heavy downpour with floods throughout the month of April and the start of May.
The rains are however expected to reduce in the coming days.
