Eighteen 18 choir members found dead and 14 rescued on Saturday after a bus plunged into River Enziu in Kitui County.
The ill-fated bus had at least 30 choir members on board, before incident took place at around 11am at Ngune Village in Mwingi Central.
The 30-plus passengers were reportedly said to be choir members of Mwingi Catholic Church, and were going to a wedding ceremony in Nuu area from Mwingi Town.
Yakan noted that the driver of the vehicle explore every skills to control the bus beyond the bridge, but the water waves exerted so much pressure and the bus plunged into the river.
The rescue operations is still underway with the police now evacuating the retrieved dead bodies to the hospital mortuary for preservation.
Police said the accident came barely two months when a similar incident was witnessed in Nyando River, Kisumu County.
Investigations are underway into the Saturday morning incident.
