Accident involving a tanker carrying fuel has been reported at Buema in Bungoma County along Kanduyi-Malaba Road. The truck reportedly lost control and fell into a ditch that was just beside the tarmac road. However, there is another event witnessed at the scene of accident that is somehow regrettable.
Residents around the area have already arrived at the scene of accident with containers to try and siphon fuel from the tanker that has overturned. Both women and men could be seen wandering around the tanker without any precautions or keeping in mind what might happen next if the tanker catches fire.[Photo Courtesy]
Some of them had already siphoned fuel from the tanker while others were still coming at the scene of the accident. Their actions has angered alot of Kenyans who now says that Kenyans never learn. Several cases of tankers exploding into flames and killing a huge number of people had been reported but it looks like that some of them have not learned a lesson.
It is heartbreaking to see mothers carrying their baby and then decides to go in such a place which is very dangerous. What if the worst happens and the tanker explodes? Kenyans have now urged the relevant authorities to act swiftly and disperse all the people that are trying to siphon fuel before the worst happens.
