One Confirmed Dead, 2 Suffer Injuries In Head-on Collision Involving Canter And Car At Thika Bridge

One person has been confirmed dead and two suffer injuries in head-on collision involving a canter and personal car at Thika bridge, Kiambu County.

Thika town bridge traffic police Simon Malenya confirmed the accident saying that police had retrieved three bodies from the scene.

Witnesses accounts revealed that the driver of the canter transporting construction blocks from Thika town lost control of the vehicle after its brakes reportedly failed leading to a collision with oncoming personal car that was headed to Thika town.

The Kenya Red Cross raced to the accident scene and retrieved the body of one the deceased that was trapped in the wreckage.

The Casualties were moved to Thika level five hospital for emergency treatment.

The Thursday morning accident caused a heavy traffic snarl up on the small road.

Police from Thika town traffic unit had a rough time to tow the wrecks away as members of the public milled around the accident scene.

Police have launched investigations into the alleged incident.
