Incidents where Kenyans have died at the hands of their loved ones have been on the rise in the recent past with the government urging people to look for alternative conflict resolution methods.
This afternoon, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from Homabay County, a female health worker in the area is said to have been killed by her boyfriend.
According to the police from the area, the lifeless body of Mary Kwamboka Ogechi, was discovered by her friend who is also her neighbour at around 11AM this morming.
Ms. Ogechi who was working at a private health facility in Rodi Kopany town centre, which is found within Homa Bay Town constituency.
Homa Bay County Directorate of Criminal Investigation Officer (DCIO) Abed Kavoo said that officers are looking for her boyfriend who has since gone into hiding.
The woman is said to have had deep cuts on her neck as well as her face indicating that she was stabbed with a kitchen knife before the assailant, believed to be her boyfriend locked the door from outside and disappeared.
Her body was moved to the Homabay County Referral Hospital Mortuary as police begin their investigations.
