Police station closed after Police Test Positive for Covid-19

Embali police station in Vihiga county has been closed following an incidence where, three police officers based in the station tested positive for Covid-19.

Details obtained from the Standard newspaper have revealed that, locals who are coming to seek services at the station are now being referred to the near by Emakakhaya police station.

According to the Emuhaya police commander Reuben Kemboi, the station will remain closed for 14 days and it will only open it's doors on recomendations from the Ministry of Health .

"When we conducted tests on all the officers at the station after some of the exhibited covid 19 symptoms, three of them tested positive for the virus and they have been placed under home based care" Kemboi stated.

He futher revealed that the other officers who tested negative for the virus will remain under isolation for 14 days after wich they will undergo another test to ascertain their status before resuming their duties.

He also revealed that all the suspects who had been locked up in the affected police cells had already been transferd to Emakakha police station for the safety of their lives.
