CAS Zack Kìnùthia is mourning a friend who succumbed to the deadly COVID-19. The Sports CAS started by warning Kenyans that they may be hearing the increasing number of COVID-19 deaths without much sorrows because the mentioned names and numbers are not people known to them.
The CAS further said that the case is very different and bitter if the mentioned names in the increasing numbers are of people you know such as friends and family members.
Kunuthia raised the point after he lost his close friend, media personality Winfred Mùkami Gìoce, who on Thursday succumbed to COVID-19 while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
Kinuthia has sai the deceased was like his family member, adding that she played a big role in the Jubilee Government's 2017 re-election victory.
"Winfred Mùkami Gìoce was one lady who was diligent. A friend whose life was focused and determined to defeat all odds.
"Anyone who was part of the Jubilee 2017 Re-election would know she was a key cog of that win. She's mourned by the fraternity like a family would, a sibling," read Kinuthia's eulogy in part.
He went further and urged Kenyans, to pay heed to the Ministry of Healths preventive measures.
His advice is coming on the same day Kenya recorded 28 deaths in a day due to COVID-19.
The Health Ministry has hinted at the return of tough control measures such as lockdown should Kenyans fail to follow the guidelines in place.
